I always wash down the inside of my fridge and freezer with my Shaklee BasicH before adding new foods. When you clean your fridge with harsh chemical cleaners, your food will absorb and of those toxins that linger after you have cleaned. Basic H does not have any of the chemicals that you wouldn't want in your body.
I keep my kids snack/lunch food on the bottom where it is easy for them to get to. The meat staying in a drawer, fruit and veggies in another drawer, and milk (easy to access) in the door.
I try and use any condiments with meals to keep them on a constant rotation so that nothing gets wasted, and I get creative. I will use a combination of things to create new meals and flavors. I also use alot of Pinterest to come up with new meals. I have very picky eaters, and to cut down on cost I have to keep my meats (which they love) to a minimum and add lots of veggies.
Easy to keep up with when you can see everything that is in your fridge/freezer. I can't tell you how many times I have been somewhere and someone pulls something out of the back of the fridge and says 'oh, I was looking for that' or 'I forgot I even had that'.
Keep it simple and easy. Clean and organize.
